With “Kaya”, the vegan spread based on coconut milk and coconut blossom sugar , Lotao made it into the innovation selection of the renowned Paris gourmet and food trade fair. In France, Lotao also presents the new flavor of Kaya: Orange-Vanilla.
Berlin, October 12, 2016. Spreads based on coconut milk and coconut blossom sugar are a traditional specialty in many regions of Asia. “Kaya” means something like “rich” in Malaysia. The original recipe resembles a kind of coconut crème brûlée. In contrast to the classic Asian version, Lotao's Kaya product range does not contain any chicken eggs, but only vegan, organically certified ingredients. Instead of refined sugar, aromatic coconut blossom sugar is caramelized with fresh coconut milk and refined with spices or fine cocoa - plus high-quality virgin coconut oil.
Kaya Coconut Jam can be used in many ways in vegan cuisine. The all-rounder is suitable as a honey substitute or spread, for filling baked goods as well as for yoghurt, sauces, salad marinades or soups.
The Kaya Chocolate Cream is the vegan filler for chocolate junkies. The fairly grown organic cocoa powder elicits almost archaic flavors from the base cream - with a comparatively low number of calories.
The crowning glory of vegan Christmas baking: Kaya Coconut Orange-Vanilla
In addition to the Kaya Coconut Jam and Kaya Chocolate Cream variants, the delicate specialty from Lotao is now also available in the OrangeVanilla flavor. “Noble organic bourbon vanilla from Madagascar paired with the pulp of exquisite organic oranges merge into an exciting symphony in the base of coconut milk, coconut blossom sugar and coconut oil,” enthuses Stefan Fak, founder and managing director of Lotao.
“We are glad that we made it to the shelves of selected delicatessen and organic stores in time for the Christmas season, because our new creation is at least as suitable for winter desserts or Christmas cookies as it is for breakfast toast,” continued the Viennese native.
The three Lotao Kaya variations are now available in 200-gram jars in selected retailers or via the Lotao online shop at a price of EUR 5.90 (RRP).
